I was floored by Kirsten's story...
As Kirsten settled into the chair for her boudoir photoshoot, I could sense her nervousness. air and makeup whisked Kirsten into their chair, as I started laying out all of the goodies that were brought; bras, underwear, bodysuit, stockings, shoes, and jewelry to see what vibe we are perusing. "I love the snake jewelry that you brought with you!" I said as Kirsten was getting glammed up.
"Yeah... I wear snake jewelry to combat my fear of snakes." Kirsten said. I told her how brave she is for facing her fears and taking things in bite sizes as we move through working through fears.
Kirsten also opened up about a toxic relationship where she had been constantly torn down, piece by piece, until she felt like she was nothing. No cute clothes, no makeup, and continuous criticism...
When it was over "I was able to take back control of my life," she explained. "I started doing things that I wanted to do, and I began to find out who I really am." Kirsten discovered that she was stronger than she ever imagined, and that she wouldn't let anything stand in her way.
"I wear snake jewelry to face my fears," she added. "I know it sounds silly, but it helps me to remember that I am capable of overcoming anything." Kirsten expressed a desire to face her fear of snakes and to conquer it once and for all.
As we continued with the photoshoot, Kirsten's confidence grew with each shot. She radiated beauty and strength, and I knew that she was going to walk away from this experience feeling more empowered than ever before. And as we wrapped up the shoot, Kirsten thanked me for helping her to see herself in a new light.
"I never thought I could look so beautiful," she said, smiling. "But you helped me to see that I am worthy of feeling confident and strong. And who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to hold a real snake without feeling afraid."
