Is a Mini Session the Right Fit for Your Family?

Mini sessions can be a

fantastic way to get a handful of

updated family portraits,

but they aren’t the perfect fit for everyone.

Before you book,

here are a few things

to consider to make sure

a mini session aligns with your vision!

What Are Your Photo Goals?

If you’re simply looking for a few great photos of your family,

a mini session is designed exactly for that!

However, if you have a specific date,

time of day, location,

or a detailed shot list in mind,

a full session is a better option.

Since multiple families are scheduled back-to-back,

timing is set in advance,

and while I always try to offer golden-hour slots,

availability can vary.

It’s important to keep in mind

— mini sessions move quickly.

And by quickly,

I mean 15 minutes!

What Are Your Kids’ Personalities Like?

You know your child best!

If they tend to warm up slowly

or need extra time to get

comfortable in new settings,

a full session might be a better choice.

Mini sessions are fast-paced,

and while I always strive

to make them fun,

there’s not much extra time for

kids who may need a little more coaxing.

That said, if your child is outgoing and easygoing,

a mini session can be a great way to

capture some beautiful moments

in a short amount of time!

How Punctual Are You?

Mini sessions are typically scheduled back-to-back,

so being on time is crucial.

If you’re running late,

unfortunately, I can’t extend your time,

as another family will be scheduled right after you.

If getting everyone out the door on time tends to be a challenge,

a full session might be the less stressful option for you!

Are You Hoping to Include Extended Family?

Mini sessions are designed for

immediate family only due to time constraints.

If you’d love to include grandparents,

cousins, or other relatives,

I highly recommend booking a full session

so we can capture

a variety of groupings

without feeling rushed.

Does the Theme Match Your Style?

Many mini sessions are seasonal

(spring blossoms, fall leaves, holiday tree farms)

and come with a set location and aesthetic.

If you love the setting and it fits your vision — amazing!

If you’re looking for something more tailored,

a full session will give us

more flexibility to bring your dream photos to life.
